Career Scholars Cooperative Education Program
The Career Scholars Cooperative Education Program is an accelerated curriculum program that will arm you with the knowledge as well as the soft skills to work in an agency/business during your senior year. In your first three years at WSC, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with participating community partners through site visits, job shadowing, and mentorships. During your senior year, you’ll move to Norfolk or Grand Island where you will earn 18 credit hours by working for an agency/business for 30-40 hours a week over a nine-month period.

Eligible applicants must be new freshmen admitted to Wayne State College, scored an ACT of at least 18, and are in good academic standing. The applicant must pursue one of the following degree programs: Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Industrial Technology, Electronic Media, Journalism, Speech Communication, Education, or *Criminal Justice.
- Recommended path for careers in fields of law enforcement, corrections, probation and parole, court services, asset protection, corporate and private security, and juvenile justice.

- Minimum award of $5,000 towards tuition freshmen year, $6,000 towards tuition sophomore year, $7,000 towards tuition junior year, and $5,000 towards tuition and up to $10,000 in housing costs in select partner communities.
